These are Blue Chip Co. poker chips that weigh 9 grams. The mold features the traditional Blue Chip Co 'flame' emblem. The chips have a
nice sound and feel and do not feel quite as light or unevenly constructed as some other, lighter, Blue Chip Co. poker chips. There
are some slight imperfections in the chip as can be seen in he black chip shown above.
The label is recessed into the chip and is very easy to read. Each chip features a dollar sign and numbers printed in the same color
as the poker chip.
The edge spots are very nice and are unique to each chip. The pink $5000 chip features a white edge spot with a black dot that
overlaps the rolling edge.
Sample weights were 8.85, 9.14, 9.11, 9.13, 9.03, 9.14, and 9.27 grams. Sample chip diameters were 39.04, 39.10, 39.06, 38.96, 39.05,
39.07, and 39.02mm. Seven chips stacked together was 23.22mm in height. Aug 2007

This is one of the first of what will be numerous "clay" poker chips manufactured in China/Asia. They are a combination
of a NexGen poker chip and a Paulson Home Poker Chip. They have the colors and the edge spots of the Paulson chips but do not quite
have the same sound and feel. The feel is just a bit more plasticy than a Paulson poker chip and the sound is a bit lighter.
The ProGen chips are made to resemble the Paulson Top Hat & Cane poker chips - the colors and edge spots are similar and contrast
well with the base color of the chip. The edges of the chip are fairly rounded (not sharp). The recessed center area of the chip is
28.4mm in diameter. The clay is solid throughout the chip, meaning that the red chip is a solid red color throughout the chip (except for
the edge spots). Some brands of "clay" chips have a "clay" outer shell with a different white, or off-white, material
in the core of the chip but the ProGen chips are solid through the chip. There is no metal slug in these chips. You can break a
chip in half using your fingers but you have to use almost maximum strength to do so.
There were some discolorations on these chips, similar to the
NexGen chips. You can see small orange spots on the black chip shown above. This is no big deal in my opinion, but might drive others
crazy. There was also some transfer of color from one chip to another - you could scratch the white chip with the red chip and end up
with little red marks on the white chip. Again, this is no big deal in my opinion and adds to the character of the chip, but might
drive others crazy. Both the NexGen and the Paulson poker chips suffer from the same problem. The orange chip shown above in the
lower-middle is very inaccurate - the orange color is more truly represented in the side view of the poker chips shown to the right.
There appear to be several "versions" of this poker chip. The chip is manufactured in China and will probably be made
available in numerous styles or slight variations, depending on the customer. There are almost identical chips available with a label as
Wallson poker chips.
Sample diameters were 39.66, 39.37, 39.58, 39.51, 39.52, 39.62, 39.50mm. Ten chips stacked together was 34.47mm in height. Sample
weights were 9.64, 9.65, 9.96, 9.74, 9.77, 9.45, 9.77, and 9.82 grams.
These are very nice poker chips for the price. They are better than a NexGen poker chip at a slightly higher cost. They are not
Paulson quality chips, but they resemble them and cost about one-third as much money.

These are very nice ceramic chips with a soothing graphical design. The front and the back of the chips have different
designs on them - the front has the words 'Coconut Tree Casino' and the back has a beach scene with the word 'Jamaica' printed
at the bottom. Both sides are shown above and have denominations printed on them. I like the design on these chips. The colors
do have a bit of a faded look to them, but overall, this is a very good looking poker chip. They have a soothing appearance. The
edge spots contrast nicely but are a bit small. This makes it a bit hard to differentiate between the chip denominations.
Sample diameters were 39.48, 39.53, 39.54, 39.48, and 39.60mm. Eight chips stacked together was 26.3mm thick. Sample weights
were 10.24, 10.07, 10.23, 10.32, 10.13, 10.26, 10.33, and 10.24 grams.
These chips can be bought individually or in sets of 300, 500, 650, and 750 and 1000. They have a lovely design that would fit
well in any tropical location.

Here are the four types of NexGen poker chips. They are all the same basic metal-insert chip, with slight differences in the
edge spots and mold. The NexGen series of poker chips just might be the best composite chips available. They have a traditional
look and good edge spots. The mold has lettering engraved into the border, giving the chip a nice texture. They have a very good
feel to them compared to most other composite poker chips.
Edge Spots
The NexGen (Edge Spot 8000) have three one-color spots, the Multi-color (8002) have four one-color spots, the River Poker Tour
(8100) have three one-color or four bi-color spots, and the Lucky Bee (8200) chips have three tri-color spots. All of the Edge
Spot chips and two of the RPT chips (red and blue) have diamonds on the rolling edge.
Mold
The Edge Spot and Multi-color have the words LAS VEGAS NEVADA USA engraved into the mold, the RPT chips have RIVER POKER TOUR, and
the Lucky Bee chips have eight bumble-bees engraved into the mold. The outer area of the mold, with the lettering, is crosshatched
somewhat like an ASM poker chips.
The colors were solid all the way through the chip. These chips are similar to most 13 gram composite chips in that they will
scratch if rubbed together or rubbed against something sharp. Over time, you will see plenty of little scratches on the face of the
chip, this is to be expected. Colors will rub off one chip onto another. It does mar the chip somewhat, but also adds
"character".
I could not find an injection mold pimple. There is a slight seam that runs down one edge, similar to many chips of this type. You
cannot see or feel the seam. There are diamonds on the rolling edge of the chip. There are no edge ridges on this chip. The RPT chips
have rougher edge spots (more discolored spots) and seem to have a bit of a problem with little pieces of plastic shaving off the edge.
These chips definitely have a composite feel to them, but they are better than most other composite chips. They are slightly
softer in texture, and this is why the colors rub off a bit. There is a bit more of a chalky feel to the NexGen poker chips. They
also stack a little better than a typical composite chip.
Samples diameters were ...
Edge Spot: 40.04, 40.02, 40.06, 40.05, 40.03, and 40.02mm

Lucky Bee: 12.23, 12.29, 12.33, 11.88, 12.10, 12.79, and 12.65 grams
Sound
Unfortunately, these chips do not really sound much better than a typical 11.5 gram composite chip. The sound might not be quite
so metallic, probably because of the additional gram of weight, but there is still that same 'clink' of a metal insert chip. There
is a bit more of a thud, due to the heavier weight, but the sound is almost identical to your typical composite poker chip. Putting
your own custom labels on these chips will help to deaden the sound a bit.
Custom Labels The center of this chip is recessed so you can stick on your own custom labels printed on a color laser or ink-jet printer.
In fact, this chip seems to be 'the chip of choice' if you want to apply your own labels. The center inlay area is 26.0mm (1.02
inches) wide so you can buy sheets of blank 1" labels and print them out on a computer printer. You can even change the
labels for each different tournament you hold. Be warned though, it can be quite tedious to stick, and center, labels on
both sides of 500 or 1000 chips.
These are some of the best low-cost poker chips you can buy. They have great edge spots and good colors. They feel okay and are
definitely much more textured than an average composite poker chip. They are also a great choice if you plan to stick customized
labels on your chips. The NexGen poker chips should be at the top of any list of composite chips.

This is a 14 gram version of the popular Ace-King composite chips. They have bright colors and fine printing. They have less of a
metallic ring to them because of the added weight. These chips are almost identical to the 11.5 gram version of the chip so it's
just a matter of which weight you like better.
I was sent numerous samples of this chip. Sample diameters were 40.15, 40.12, and 40.12mm. Three chips stacked together were
10.01mm thick.
There are three or four variations of this tri-color chip. They all have four edge spots with a bar and/or diamond in the rolling
edge of each spot. I don't usually like bars on the edge but they don't look too bad on this chip.
Please
contact me if you would like your chips added to my reviews. You must send me at least one sample of each chip you would
like reviewed. I will not post additional reviews of chips that I have already reviewed on this site.
