These are ceramic poker chips that feature the card suits around the perimeter and a large denomination and star in the center.
The word "POKER" is printed between each edge spot on the rolling edge. This is one of the nicest implementations of edge
writing that I have seen on any poker chip. The letters are large enough to read (unlike most poker chips) and the lettering
actually adds to the good looks of the rolling edge.
There are 5 bi-color (black and yellow) edge spots on each chip, but they are rather small. There are no edge ridges on this chip
and I could not find an injection mold pimple. There is no white border around the perimeter of the chip, as there is on Chipco
ceramic poker chips.
The inside of a Suits & Stars poker chip is typical for a ceramic poker chip - it is a solid ceramic material with the color and
graphics "printed" on the surface. The colors could not be scratched off using a fingernail but can be scratched off with a
sharp object such as a knife. There are six denominations in all the correct colors. The denominations are large and very easy to read.
Sample diameters were 39.56, 39.56, 39.34, 39.51, 39.49, 39.41, 39.49, and 39.50mm. Eight chips stacked together was 26.33mm thick.
Sample chip weights were 10.22, 10.22, 10.23, 10.21, 10.26, 10.21, 10.18, and 10.18 grams.
I like these poker chips, probably for the edge text more than anything else. The word "POKER" in large capital letters
and the smaller edge spots make for a very unique rolling edge design. May 2007

These poker chips feature a coin inlay that is much more of a silver color than the black that is shown in these scanned poker chip
images. The inlay features the work "POKER", a wreath, and a royal flush poker hand. There are no denominations printed on
these chips.
There are 7 different colors. All the edge spots are white. There is a bar and a diamond printed between each spot.
Most metal inlay poker chips weigh more than the 11.5 grams that these chips weigh. As with all metal inlay chips, they have a
louder thud sound than a typical 11.5 gram composite chip. They also feel more substantial.
I could not remove the coin inlay without tearing apart the entire poker chip - the metal slug is embedded into the chip. In the photo
on the left you can see how the clay oozes into a ridge that runs along the edge of the metal slug, thus locking the slug into place.
Sample diameters were 39.91, 39.92, 39.87, 39.97, 39.92, 39.89, 39.89, and 39.89mm. Eight chips stacked together was 26.76mm thick.
Sample chip weights were 11.35, 11.58, 11.62, 11.39, 11.58, 11.59, and 11.51 grams. May 2007

These Poker Tournament chips come in 10 different colors/denominations ranging from $1 to $25,000. The base colors are all very
distinguishable and it is easy to differentiate between the denominations. This chip is fairly busy looking, there is a lot
of writing and graphics on the chip, but it still looks nice - everything seems to blend in together. The label is very shiny and,
combined with the graphics, give the chip a distinguished look. Each of the labels is a bit different in color depending on the base
color of the chip.
The vinyl label is slightly recessed into the chip. You cannot peel the label off with your fingernail but it does come off in one
solid piece when using a knife to pry it off.
There are no edge spots on this chip, only a series of diamonds on the rolling edge. This gives the chip a bit of a dice/suited
look to it. There is no metal slug inside these chips, instead there is a dense core material surrounded by a clay covering. The clay
feels okay, in fact there is almost a chalky feel to it.
Sample diameters were 40.09, 40.08, 40.05, 40.11, 39.96, 39.98, 40.04, and 40.11mm. Eight chips stacked together was 27.30mm thick.
Sample chip weights were 11.60, 11.59, 11.58, 11.44, 11.53, 11.49, 11.30, and 11.38 grams. May 2007

These composite chips weigh 11.5 grams and have four solid edge spots that each contain an engraved symbol,
either a Longhorn, boot, hat, or horseshoe. I like the engravings, they give the chip a feeling of the Old West.
There are no edge ridges on this chip. The typical, small injection mold pimple can be found in one groove.
This chip has a nicer sound to it than most metal insert chips. It feels and sounds similar to the Poker Design chip
reviewed below and has much more of a 'thud' and much less of a 'ring' than a typical 11.5 gram composite. I like these
chips, probably more for the engravings than anything else. |

These composite chips weigh 11.5 grams and are a bit unique in that they have engraved A, K, Q, J on the facing of the
edge spots. The combination of good edge spots and the recessed suits makes these composite chips nicer than the
average 11.5 gram composite chip. They have four solid white edge spots and no edge ridges. |

The Six Stripe is the type of chip used on the Soprano's and has six stripes rather than solid edge spots. Weighing 7.5
grams, it is lighter than a 11.5 gram composite but sounds better. They sound less metallic and have a bit of a hollow
thud to them. The stripes take the place of edge spots and do an effective job. There are no edge ridges on this chip.
For the money, these chips are an excellent value. |

These diamond chips are perfectly acceptable for those on a budget. They even have a better feel than some of the composite chips
on the market. They weigh 8 grams and have a nice sound and good feel to them. They are not too plasticy or slippery.
These chips are also available with hot-stamped denominations for an additional ,02€ per chip. |

These composite chips weigh 11.5 grams and have eight stripes instead of edge spots. The inlay is a sticker that is somewhat
recessed into the chip. I could not peel the label off with my finger but could with a knife. There is no injection mold spot
or edge ridges on this chip. The sound and feel of this chip is somewhat better than a typical 11.5 gram composite. They are
a little better in quality but much better in looks and design.
I was only sent one of these chips. The diameter is 40.13mm and the thickness is 3.3mm.

These composite chips weigh 11.5 grams and have no edge spots. They do have a series of diamonds that run
along the rolling edge but the lack of solid edge spots mars an otherwise nice chip. There are no edge ridges on this chip.
Like the chip reviewed above, the sound and feel of this chip is better than a typical 11.5 gram metal insert chip, it has
more of a thud and less of a ring.
